Stoneboro Presbyterian Church

Have some questions about our worship services?
Below are some frequently asked questions (and some answers) about worship at Stoneboro Presbyterian Church.

Who will be there?
The pastor, of course--along with peope of all ages and backgrounds who live in the Stoneboro/Sandy Lake area. This year we average about 50 people in worship. We have little children, youth, young adults, middle-aged adults, and retirees.

Is the worship style traditional or contemporary?
Our worship service is rather traditional, but the service is quite relaxed. Sometimes we are serious. Sometimes we laugh. Sometimes we cry. Sometimes we sing music lead by a guitar. Sometimes we sing hymns led by an organist. Sometimes we have a choir. Sometimes we don't. If you would like to find out more about our worship service go to the page "The Order of our Worship Service."

What should I wear?
Whatever you want. Some people wear suits and dresses. Other people wear jeans and t-shirts. Wear what makes you comfortable. (Even the pastor doesn't wear the same outfit every Sunday. Sometimes he wears a robe. Other times he wears a suit. He has also been know to wear a t-shirt and shorts during worship.)

What do I do with my child?
You have three options. (1)We have a nursery available for small children. (2)We have a children's progam that runs during the worship service. (3)You children are also free to sit with you during the service. We don't mind hearing the chatter (or crying) of little children during our worship time together. As one member said, "The sound of children in the church is the sound of life in the church."

Do you want my money?
No. The members of our church are responsible for giving to help support the mission of the church.

Is the pastor going to yell at me?
Only if you yell at him first! The pastor attempts to share gospel messages that are challenging yet reflect the hope and love of the God we know in Jesus Christ.

Will I have to stand up and introduce myself?
No. But don't be surprised if someone introduces themself to you. We do our best to welcome visitors into our house of worship.

I have more questions?
If you have questions about worship or membership or our ministries, please feel free to call the church office (724-376-2021) and speak to Rev. Rodgers. You can also email the pastor at stoneboropres@certainty.net.
