Deacon - Stoneboro Presbyterian Church

The Deacon Ministry...
"providing care and prayer for the people of our church."

Stephen, the first martyr of the early Church, was selected as one of the first deacons according to the Book of Acts.

Our Deacons provide care and prayer support for our church community in the following ways:

- visiting shut-ins and hospitalized people
- taking communion (with the pastor) to those unable to attend worship
- sending cards to the sick
- sending "Happy Baptism Day" cards to church members on the anniversary date of their baptism
- sending cards to local families during times births, deaths, engagements, weddings, purchases of new homes, etc...
- taking Christmas gifts to local shut-ins
- Easter baskets for local shut-ins
- care packages for college students
- in conjunction with our Bereavement Committee, they assist in serving luncheons following funeral services
- responsible for the creation of our "Prayer Wall"
- assist the various ministry teams of the church
